Spectral Analysis

Mean periodogram, radial power, anisotropy and a sampled zone plate test function for reference point sets obtained via traditional dart throwing as well as our optimized version of the same point sets. To reduce measurement noise we average 10 sets of 4096 points. The mean periodogram image has been logarithmically tone-mapped for display. For the sampling scenario, we utilize 10 sets of 262'144 points and reconstruct the image by a cubic b-spline filter. Compared to the reference, note in particular the increased radius of the gray, noise-free area in our method's zone image without introducing new artifacts.
